Gardening - a helping hand - 8/20/17

Our ghost peppers, jalapeƱo peppers, and tomatoes from our front garden. Still tons left to harvest. The ghost peppers are hot asf. Devon my 7 yr old ate an entire ghost pepper. I took one bite and my oldest took one bite and 20 minutes later our mouths, throats, and tounges are still on fire. Devon loves hot and spicy foods. He goes mom can I have another. I said dude your crazy leave them so I can make salsa with them. I literally watched him eat the whole thing... I'm still shocked. Oh and our pumpkins and watermelons are done too. I'll let the kids eat some of these then I make homemade tomato sauce for our spegetti and salsa then pick the watermelons tomorrow. I'll probably end up giving some to the neighbors like last year. There's ten watermelons out there. There were 12 but a neighbor helped themselves to two of them. Oh well if they need food they can have it. Almost all of my neighbors have kids and I am a strong believer in all kids deserve to eat no matter what... But if you're my neighbor and see this please be sure to leave me 2-3 watermelons please - have four kiddos here myself. And please leave all the pumpkins. We are going to make homemade pumpkin pies and roast some pumpkin seeds in the oven and make Jack o lanterns with them. These are fifth generation pumpkins free of chemicals and grown from seeds of them from the prior five years, yr after yr. I'll be giving away pumpkin pies in a couple weeks also. I've donated at least 20 pounds of tomatoes to my neighbors also. Glad to be able to help everyone eat healthy and have some food. Produce is so expensive anymore it's unreal. Have a great night everyone and thanks for reading this long post.
